The Symptom
Midway sits about 12 miles out from our shop in Hinesville, which shapes how we run this kind of call. A door that's jumped its track isn't something we can diagnose over the phone and it isn't something we stock a single fix for, so when we get a Midway call we load the truck for the housing stock we expect to see there before we ever pull out of the lot. That matters here because Midway's homes run newer than a lot of what we service - median build year around 2002, not the older stock you'll find closer in. A door slamming into one side of the opening, a roller popped clean out of the track, or a door that only comes partway down before binding sideways - these are the usual off-track complaints, and on a 2002-era home the cause is almost always a hard impact or a roller failure, not decades of track sag. We still can't tell you over the phone whether the track is bent or just knocked loose until we're standing in front of it, and with the drive out here, we'd rather bring the right parts the first time than make a second trip for something we should've guessed.
Parts We Carry
Because Midway's housing clusters around 2002, the track and roller hardware is standard steel, factory-spec sizing - not the older, harder-to-match gauge you find on pre-1990s doors. That's good news for a same-visit fix: nylon and steel rollers, standard track sections, and the end bearing plates that bolt to this era's jamb framing are all things we keep loaded. What we don't carry on the truck is replacement track cut to a non-standard width - if a door's opening was framed outside the usual spec, that part gets ordered and the job becomes a second visit. We won't pretend otherwise just to close out a call in one trip.
What the Repair Takes
Most off-track calls on a 2002-built house are a rollers-and-realignment job, not a structural one - the opening framing is square, the track brackets are factory-placed, and once the door's back on its rollers it tracks straight. Where it runs longer is if the door came off while someone was driving through it or backing into it; that kind of impact can rack the whole section the track bolts to, not just bend the rail, and that's a different repair with different parts. We travel the 12 miles out from Hinesville with both scenarios in mind, but we still walk the opening and the door panel before quoting labor, because guessing the extent of impact damage from a phone call is how a quick fix turns into a return trip.
